Nici Gerber is the proud mom of three children, all of whom were raised in the Montessori way. The benefits of this approach are beautifully evident in the well-balanced, independent, and driven individuals they have grown to be.

Her journey with Montessori began soon after starting her teaching career at the University of Port Elizabeth in 1995, where she discovered the philosophy that would become her lifelong passion.

 

Over the years, she has studied Montessori extensively, holding diplomas through both the St Nicholas Training Centre in London and Mercy Montessori in Cape Town for the 0–6 and 6–12 age groups. She also holds an Executive MBA from the UCT Graduate School of Business, equipping her with the skills to lead and grow the school with both vision and purpose.

In 2003, Nici founded Montessori @ Home from her own home, planting the seeds of what has since flourished into a thriving learning community. Today, the school enjoys an expansive campus in Southern Paarl, where children are nurtured to reach their fullest potential in a prepared, child-centered environment.

For Nici, Montessori is far more than an educational method - it is a way of life. Her dedication over three decades reflects her deep belief in the power of fostering independence, creativity, and a love of learning in every child.
